Mangga Asam Boi & Frozen Bag

Love & Kisses ✿ sha 1 comments
kesimpulannya, beli jeruk yang dipos memang nightmare!!!
reminder for me, untuk barang-barang yg ada cecair begini, sila la jangan beli online. bukan setakat meleleh kat tepi-tepi, tapi bila ia dah lama dlm simpanan poslaju, and mungkin terdedah pd haba sepanjang proses penghantaran, and takde pengawet pula tu, harus la rasa dah jadi semacam. benda yang confirm sedap pun boleh jadi tak sedap ha. officemate aku buat epal asam boi aritu 10x lagi sedap.

so sesiapa teringin nak makan jeruk pelam asam boi, boleh la try buat sendiri or beli kat orang keliling tu je. tak payah degil sangat nak beli online walaupun posmen akan hantar depan pintu ye.

ni resepinya.

senang gila kot nak buat.
tapi kat sini mana ntah nak carik org jual pelam muda yang sedap tu.
sekian T_T

eh as usual, sesiapa nak Frozen Square Trolley Suitcase mcm ni sila msg saya ok.

Zalora-holic?

Love & Kisses ✿ sha 0 comments
Seriously, I started to become a Zalora-holic now.
‘how to resist when you kept receiving so many discounts and vouchers setiap kali bershopping di sana? T_T

Last few weeks I bought a new shoes there.
The best thing about Zalora is that you can return/exchange for free, just in case la kan.
But of course my shoes does fit me well.

So for this month it's a birthday present for my dear brother.
It's our family tradition to buy something for someone's birthday tapi kali ini tatau nak beli apa pun.
‘ok macam penipuan je kan kalau saya sebagai shopaholic yang tegar cakap tatau nak beli apa T_T

As usual, bila menjalankan window shopping di Zalora, akan jumpa pelbagai benda yang tiba-tiba menjadi barang keperluan.

Seperti hoodie di bawah ini.

It's stylish ok to see men in hoodie.
And there're lots of range available in Zalora.
Ala-ala boyish gitu melihat lelaki memakai hoodie, kan.
I just hope that hubby would wear one for me.
Sebab pakaian feveret hari-hari ialah kemeja hokey.
veri old fashioned ini hubby.

By the way those yang tatau apa itu hoodie, boleh go thru explanation di bawah ya.

Jom beli hoodie for men online di ZALORA.

Ok sekian iklan.

But seriously shopping di Zalora memang best!

semua yang sedap.

kesimpulannya, sambal hitam adalah tak sedap!
aaaa tensi hokey. aku beli setengah kilo plak tuh T_T

by the way, semalam beli Aiskrim Goreng.
sedap je. maklum la brand Nestle kan. aku beli perisa coklat and vanila. and coklat adalah lebih sedap kat tekak aku.
cuma agak mahal kot.
RM10.50 utk 6 biji.
rasa dia sama je macam aku buat roti bakar pastu letak aiskrim. tapi sebab toaster aku dah burok rosak, maka tak boleh nak buat roti bakar dah. terpaksa bakar roti atas pan kalau nak rasa Aiskrim Goreng homemade.

And last few days aku buat Cheezykut or Kek Lapis Cheese.

sangat sedap ye!
and super senang nak buat.
yang penting kena ada mixer.
ada orang cakap boleh guna blender.
tapi aku guna blender tak jalan pun.
nasib baik kat rumah emak ada food processor yg boleh jadi mixer. so berjaya la buat benda yg sedap nih.

Bahan-bahannya :
250g cream cheese (aku guna Tatura)
50ml full cream milk (Dutch lady)
1 peket Duluxe Original Crakers (Hup Seng)
1/2 tin susu pekat (F&N)

Cara-caranya :
1) Masukkan cream cheese ke dalam mixer and pukul sehingga kembang. Rasa-rasa agak ringan tu dia dah kembang la tu.
2) Masukkan susu pekat. Pukul sehingga sebati. Nak letak 1/2 tin boleh or nak kurangkan lagi pun boleh sebab pd aku letak setengah tin ni pun dah manis sangat.
3) Masukkan 4 sudu full cream milk. Jangan banyak sangat sebab nanti kek jadi lembik.
4) Susun biskut di dalam bekas. Tuang sedikit adunan dan ratakan. Kemudian susun selapis demi selapis sehingga adunan habis.
5) Letak dalam fridge beberapa jam before makan.

ohhhh heaven! aku makan berdua je dengan adik aku. habis dalam masa beberapa jam ye.
so sila la try.

tadi aku dah order mixer Electrolux kat Lazada sbb murahan. esok sampai la kot. so boleh buat berkali-kali-kali lagi sampai muak.

sekian.

lalala~

seriously I'm a crazy shopaholic!
I don't know why or when or how tapi telah menjadik shopaholic yg sangat dasat T_T

Tadi baca blog PerempuanJomblo, dia makan Sambal Hitam yg super sedap, maka on the spot the mengorder setengah kilo.

yes, SETENGAH KILO hokey.
pantang nampak orang cakap sedap, kan. padahal yg nak makannya perut aku sorang.

Semalam, baca blog Fifi, nampak dia masak pekasam daging yg sedap, maka telah mengorder 4 bungkus.

aa sebab dah alang-alang, kan. kalau order sikit pun kena bayar pos banyak tu jugak, baik beli banyak terus ye tak?
kof koff kofff
kalau tak sedap abih la aku T_T

Sephora dah beli, Lazada sudah.
Radiusite, Sugarscarf, Terbaik Dari Ladang, Calaqisya, Dreemika, Benang Hijau, you name it hokey. semuaaa sudah.

Aku adalah pembeli online yg tegar.
Sebab itu aku menjadi penjual online yg tegar.
Sebab aku tau, ramai pembeli online tegar yg suka barangan best, original dan murah, macam aku.
So mari membeli-belah produk kesihatan, set bersalin for expected mothers, kids/baby stuff & clothings serta lain-lain produk di Facebook kami ya ------> CHARMSandCOLORS

ahahahaha.

wei, ingat senang nak dapat body mcm anak dara balik kalau tak jaga badan? especially untuk orang yang kuat makan kek, cheese, nasik, lasagna, etc2 dan berumur tiga-puluh-dua macam aku T_T
so mari makan produk Nona Roguy, Shaklee, Amway & Ephyra untuk kecantikan dalaman, serta menggunakan produk Tanamera yg berkonsepkan spa utk kecantikan luaran.
seriously best!

aku tak mencegah diri dari makan benda-benda yg aku suka as long as ianya tergolong dlm kumpulan yg tak berapa memudaratkan mcm cheese, kek, coklat, lasagna semua tu. tapi insya allah lecithin and omega yg aku makan, mencegah lemak dan kolestrol daripada diserap banyak-banyak dalam badan aku.

and, siapa yg boleh menolak kebaikan jamu?
Phytonatal, one of the essential thing yg wajib ada dalam laci opis aku.
aku tak suruh makan supplement/jamu banyak-banyak pun. tapi dalam 2, 3 hari sekali, ambil la 1, 2 jenis. jangan sampai overdose pulak, kan.

ok, mari shopping dulu.
eh.

daging ujang!

Love & Kisses ✿ sha 1 comments
Pernah dengar Daging Ujang?
Pedas-pedas menyengat cili api tapi SERIOUSLY SEDAP okeh!

Dulu, setiap kali balik dari kedai kek kami, malam-malam mesti akan singgah tapau Daging Ujang di kedai makan sebelah Petron bus station Masai. Tapau dua bungkus, lauk asing. Esok sebungkus boleh bawak pegi opis buat makan tengahari. ‘nampak tak betapa kemaruk di situ? hoho

First time makan di situ, my brother-in-law yg bawa.
Dia sangat la beria menyuruh kami mencuba Nasi Daging Ujang. And akhirnya bila dah rasa, mmg everydaylah makan benda yang sama.

So motif update blog hari ini sebab aku nak share resepi Daging Ujang my version yg kalo korang terer masak mmg akan kompem sedap.

1 kg daging yg dihiris nipis dan potong kecil-kecil (kalau nak lagi best, guna la daging batang pinang)
40-50 biji cili api (ikut saiz cili tu la. aku guna cili kecik2)
3 biji bawang besar (dipotong dadu/hiris kasar)
4 biji bawang putih (2 biji cincang, 2 biji dikisar sekali dgn cili)
1-2 batang serai (hiris serong, kasar2)
15 tangkai daun ketumbar (hiris kasar2)
2 inci halia (hiris kasar)
6 sudu sos tiram
Sedikit air asam jawa (lebih kurang 3/4 cawan)
1 sudu gula

Cara nak masak :

1) Goreng daging + halia sampai agak-agak garing. Guna minyak banyak. Angkat dan biarkan tepi.
2) Tumis bawang putih sampai naik bau, kemudian masukkan cili api & bawang putih yg telah dikisar kasar. jangan kisar halus tau, tak sedap. Agak-agak dah pecah minyak, masukkan sos tiram.
3) Tumis lagi, kemudian masukkan masukkan sedikit air asam jawa.
4) Masukkan gula.

SUPER SEDAP!

40-50 biji cili tu memang nampak banyak tapi ikut korang la. If rasa pedas sangat, kurangkan cili. Tapi bila dimasak betul-betul, sebenarnya cili tu tak la pedas pun. Kalau belum masak lagi dah dicampur bahan lain, nanti rasa dia tak berapa sedap. Tapi jangan terlebih masak sampai hangit pulak kan.

And if masak sekilo daging pun boleh abis sekejapan je ye.
If nak masak sedikit, korang kurangkan la bahan dia.

ok, sekian resepi.
'ahhh besok cam nak masak lagi la!

my lipstick. and everything.

Love & Kisses ✿ sha 0 comments
Just bought my first Sephora lipstick last Tuesday.
And setelah bertahun-tahun memakai lipstick, inilah first time dapat lipstick yg sangat tahan lama okeh. And it's not even the matte long-lasting one!

I've been using MAC and Bobbi Brown for the past few years and it's such a shame sebab dua2 brand ni adalah sangat best T_T but who cares? Dah jumpa ini Sephora yg lagi best and worth the money. Only RM45 per pc and if u purchase more than RM99, u got to use the discount voucher. yippie!

So, penat la aku dok mengoogle brand mana yg takde sangkut paut dengan itu syaitan, a big no for MAC, BB, Estee Lauder, Clinique and all. Akhirnya terjumpa dengan ini Sephora. And after giat mensurvey, ramai jugak yg bagi review best, so akhirnya membeli di Zalora sebab itu yg paling murahan dan dipercayai antara semua.

I bought Sexy Game, and arini bercadang nak beli satu lagi lipstick and I want to try their blusher sebab Zalora ada berikan RM25 voucher for my next purchase. Maklumlah, I'm a very forgetful person.

And my personal opinion on Zalora is... memang best!
My order reached me within 2 days and the packaging is tip-top! I just wish they had more product like Nars and all so that I don't have to search anywhere else for my essential things.

There's one branch of Sephora at Komtar JBCC tapi waktu kami ke sana before Hari Raya, it wasn't fully open yet. Gigih kot amik half day sebab nak ke sana, tengok-tengok cuma a few shops je yg dah bukak. Yang lain still under renovation.

By the way, Pandora and Jelly Bunny are also there!
yey!
koyak rabak nampaknya poket aku gini kalau ke sana selalu T_T

By the way we're having EPHYRA PROMOTION for this month!

Only RM180 per box + FREE Delivery + FREE Shaker Ephyra + FREE Non Woven Bag Ephyra + FREE Mystery Gift!

okay I know this entry is like rojak.
mixing everything on business and personal.
But I sooo veri want to update my blog as usual, cerita itu dan ini macam dulu-dulu but I can't help it.

Lots of my customers came from this blog and I just can't write all the personal things without mix it up with other things like, you know, business.

ehem.

reward yourself.

Love & Kisses ✿ sha 0 comments
and it's 2 am again.
nampaknya mood utk menulis datang waktu-waktu begini sahaja ya.

by the way, I've just finished mencuci mata di Pandora.net.
my oh my... charms is definitely addictive hokey! rasa macam nak beli sekarang jugak! sekian T_T

oh ye. sebenarnya motif stayback sampai pagi2 buta ni sebab nak google tentang Charms & Colors. coz recently I received many orders from bloggers yg recommend us to their fellow frens. so harus la ai teringin nak baca review kamu2 yg pernah menggunakan khidmat kami sebelum ni kan. mana tau kot tiba2 saya bermurah hati nak berikan something to those yg berikan review di blog mereka, kan ^_^

so motif sebenar mmg menggoogle tentang Charms & Colors tapi bila result keluar byk tentang Pandora, harus la ai rasa itu macam menarik juga maka telah terjebak sekali kan. tu yg terasa nak pegi JBCC besok jugak sbb Pandora bracelet berharga cuma RM295 ye! Charms dia kot yg a bit expensive but still affordable lah sbb 1 pc around RM100++ shj.

I'm not so into gold and all sbb terasa mcm makcik2 tapi nampaknya mcm telah terpikat dengan ini Pandora.

'bila letak atas tangan gini gilaaa sangat cantek, kannn T_T

So my next aim for this year is to own this two items; Pandora and that Dior purse that have been in my mind for the past few weeks.

yes, it may looks quite expensive but you shud have target in life. work hard and please yourself with something that you like.

bila kita ada aim, kita akan lebih berusaha utk capai goal tersebut. in my case, I always have something to reward myself everytime I reach my goal in business.

yes, do reward yourself and jgn lupa bersedekah.
perbanyakkan berdoa dan cuba perbaiki amalan kita sedikit demi sedikit.
--> ajaran from my mentor, Dr Azizan, and this is what I've practising all this while.

It makes me aim for higher and higher and put the rush of adrenaline in me.

you shud do the same too.
after all those hardworks and staybacks, siapa yg tak suka bila dapat all those branded and beautiful things, kan ^_^

sometimes...

it's almost 2 am now and suddenly I feel like blogging after reading some FB updates from my old frens back in MMU time.

all the stories...
the divorces.
the engagement.
the new weddings.
OMG how time flies!
ai berasa sangat tua hokey!
it's been almost 10 years now since I left MMU tapi kenangan tetap mcm dahulu.

setiap kali ke Mlk, setiap hembusan nafas, setiap kali berdiri tepi jln and mandang kiri kanan, perasaannya tetap sama macam dulu-dulu.

and suddenly I'm a mother of two.

sometimes I crave for something adventurous, something out of ordinary, and sometimes I do feels like Sarah in Daddy by Danielle Steel but heck! I've been living a blissful life, I've had what other people had been craving for, and I've been living thru hell before. so kenapa mahu laluinya lagi, kan?

ahahaha.
it's just sometimes.
yes, sometimes.
...

Dear Me,
Be grateful for what you have. There're people out there who dream of having your life.

alhamdulillah.
two beautiful children.
a lovey dovey hubby.

no, life has never been perfect.
it probably never will.
but I know I will always have you and you and you to stand by me even if the whole world falls apart.

thank you Allah for everything.

Promosi hampir tamat!

Love & Kisses ✿ sha 0 comments
yes, promosi raya untuk produk Tanamera hampir tamat!
Last order for this promo is on 28 July 2014 ya.

Susah tau nak dapat promo FREE VCO utk setiap pembelian set bersalin Tanamera. Selalu pihak Tanamera buat 1 atau 2 kali setahun sahaja. So, jangan lepaskan peluang ni ok?

Kalau tak lalu nak minum VCO Tanamera, boleh try VCO Qelapa yang juga produk keluaran Tropical Herbs Sdn Bhd (sama company dgn VCO Tanamera) dengan harga RM60 sahaja :)

TIPS PENGAMBILAN VCO

By the way, we're now officially stokist for product Nona Roguy (NR) di Malaysia! Sebelum ini kami cuma distributor biasa, akhirnya pihak NR dah approved our application to be the stokist. It's been more than 2 months now... And our produk dah sampai ke beberapa negara luar. Saudi, Brunei, Australia & Singapore.

And not forgetting the Ephyra product.
Our names has been published in a few local magazines as the authorized distributor in Malaysia.

and yes, I've been using SKII Cleanser, Toner & Miracle Water for about 2 years now.

Everyone thinks that SKII is quite expensive but for me, use whatever skincare that's right for you. I'm not even using the whole range. Cuma tiga yg itu shj. Jangan harap nak pakai lebih sebab saya bukanlah seorang yg rajin bab2 gini. Malam pun selalunya malas nak pakai toner bagai. Cuci muka pun dah cukup bagus. That's why la my skincare boleh tahan dekat setahun okeh. and that's why I think it worth the money. I don't even wear the eye cream tapi my eye bag + kedut2 bawah mata dah hilang!! Maybe the combination of supplements and skincare is good for me.

Seriously you should read this hokey.
Yang paling menyentuh hati saya ialah :
Letting them grow up.
T_T

So I look back with nostalgia, and embrace today, and look forward to tomorrow. They’ll grow. And I’ll savor the moments that we’re blessed to share.

yes.
These are the things that I will not regret doing with my kids.

1. Tucking them into bed at night. Someday they’ll be too big and I won’t get that moment back. Saying good night, pulling up the covers, and kissing their heads is a gift.

2. Telling them I love them. Start this when they’re young. I love you is a powerful three word phrase that matters.

3. Listening to their stories. Their stories teach me about them and their hearts and what they love. I think of the stories as a way to learn more about them. And this is the real listening. Not the distracted mom who wants to move onto the next thing on her never ending to-do list.

4. Looking them in their eyes. Nothing tells another person you matter more than looking at them in the eyes while they talk. It shows that what they are saying truly is important to you. I want my kids to remember that there were times when their mother looked them in the eye and smiled. And for me this often means shutting my laptop, putting down my phone, stopping my list, and just giving them time.

5. Saying yes when it’s easier to say no. Like those times when I just want to keep to my agenda and they want to join in. Or for those late night sleep overs. Or those times when I am simply tired and don’t want to walk up the stairs to say goodnight. Or for the extra story. Or to play a game. Yes simply matters.

6. Showing them new things. I can read to my kids about history or I can start to show them history. Last week, when Grace and I were in Mexico, it was such a cool experience to show Grace the Mayan ruins in Tulum. Now, I’m not saying go to Mexico, but there are things we can show them. Do science. Look at the stars. Go to the museum. Let them learn and see the world.
7. Teaching them to say please and thank you. No explanation needed. Politeness matters.

8. Letting them help even if it means it takes longer for me. Does it take longer to wash the windows if I’m teaching my children how to wash the windows? Yes. Same with laundry, cooking, cleaning, folding, and more. But they need to learn – these are life skills. I would be doing them a disservice by NOT teaching them and letting them help.

9. Saying no to things even when it would be easier to say yes. There are movies and television shows that I don’t let my kids watch. Books that I want them to wait to read. ipods and computers that are only allowed on the main level. Sometimes the answer needs to be no – even if everyone else’s answer seems to be yes.

10. Laughing with them. Or smiling with them. Or having fun with them. I simply want them to know I love being around them.  This is the aspect of liking my kids, not just loving them. I want them to know both.

11. Making them learn the value of work. I want my kids to know that work matters and that a good work ethic – where you go above and beyond and don’t complain – is an excellent skill. My kids know how to do laundry, to sweep the floor, to bring their dishes over, to clean their rooms, to make their beds, and so on. I will never regret teaching them the value of work.

12. Rocking them to sleep. Holding their hand. Giving them a kiss. I love them. Even after those days where they drive me a bit crazy and I wonder what in the world I’m doing. Those little acts of love are important life acts of love.

13. Saying I’m sorry. Because lets face it – I’m not perfect. I mess up. I make mistakes. So they need to hear me say I’m sorry and that I love them and that they’re important to me. So that means sometimes I will say I’m sorry.

14. Teaching them to be respectful of others. This. And this again. And this. I want my kids to respect others. To listen to them, to learn, and to not judge. This starts with me teaching them this skill and me being respectful of them. Often it is looking for the good first and giving grace.

15. Encouraging them to take risks. Sometimes the fear is the biggest obstacle. Kids need to learn to look at the fear and to push through the fear.

16. Not holding onto a record of wrongs. Each day is a new day. Learn from the past, but don’t hold onto the past. I want to see the good first and not all the negative – so often that means letting go of the record of wrongs.

17. Letting them see me thrive. I don’t want my kids to grow up thinking I was a good mom, but a not too happy and joyful mom. They need to see me thrive and be interested in things and to expand my creativity as well.

18. Teaching them compassion. I want them to see the world beyond me and ourselves. I want them to give back, to care about others, and to be a person of change.

19. Showing them that the stuff doesn’t matter. Nothing in Target really matters. Nor the stuff on the shelves. Or the clothes one wears. Or the fancy birthday parties. If the stuff clouds the vision then the relationships are lost. Relationships first. Stuff after that.

20. Letting them grow up. Sigh. This. It has to be done. So I look back with nostalgia, and embrace today, and look forward to tomorrow. They’ll grow. And I’ll savor the moments that we’re blessed to share.

Those are just twenty things I won’t regret doing with my kids. Simple things, really. They’re the living intentional type things that sometimes just need to be written down.

What is on your list?

yes, it is EPHYRA!

Akhirnya dah jumpa collagen yg sesuai untuk saya and it is EPHYRA!
yey!

Saya tak mungkin nak minum something yg smelly. Air soya pun tak minum okeh. Tapi Ephyra ni sedap jugak. Yang penting boleh telan ye.

and since I've tried it, and I truly love it, maka di sini nak buat announcement yg saya kini ialah reseller sah untuk EPHYRA product together with my other babies; Tanamera, Amway, Shaklee & Nona Roguy :)

Memang la Shaklee ada collagen sendiri, but as I said before, bukan semua collagen sesuai dengan keperluan kita. Besides, this Ephyra is quite cheap.

Promo price kami cuma...
RM180 for 30 sachet + FREE DELIVERY!

As for Shaklee collagen, mungkin ramai yang sesuai dengannya but maybe not for me. Saya tak boleh telan Shaklee collagen and I think the price is quite expensive. RM298 for 15 sachet. hmm hmm.

And tak perlu risau sebab Ephyra ni sesuai utntuk ibu-ibu yang menyusu badan ye.

choose your F.R.I.E.N.D.S wisely

Love & Kisses ✿ sha 0 comments
yes, I totally agree with this.

you definitely have to choose your friends wisely.
The one who is talking to you about me today is likely to talk to others about you tomorrow. So, choose your friends wisely.

seriously okeh.
I don't have many friends. But I have some good colleagues around me. Not many though. Yang sibuk bercerita-mengutuk-mengata-bermulut-manis di belakang memang sangat ramai la kan. That's why, again, you have to choose your friends wisely.

I read lots of great articles lately and I couldn't resist not to share it with you here. sila la baca ya.

terima kasih

I love this blog design.
coz it feels like me inside out.
tapi macam kena tukar theme baru.

and it doesn't look quite professional either.
with me having CHARMS & COLORS and Cheezylicious Cakes di kiri dan kanan.

but who needs professional anyway?

I love this blog for what it is.
and blog ini bukan officially my business blog pun.

tanpa cerita-cerita mengarut macam zaman dulu-dulu.

oh by the way, bulan ini adalah bulan gembira.
I started fresh on everything.
enhancing the business, new way of handling the stock take, customer record, everything.
kan sebelum ni segalanya manual.
tapi bila sales mencecah puluhan ribu setiap bulan, manual adalah sangat tak efisyen.

lots of people been asking me, how did I start? why? when?
seriously I don't know what's the answer.
I'm not even a business minded person.
I don't study marketing, accounts.
mind me, I used to be an Accounts Executive but to tell you the truth, I've never really like accounts in my whole life.
sangat dibenci okeh.
hoho.

and I don't really like to sell things.
I'm just doing things that I love.

I love to talk about kids.
I love to shop branded and beautiful things.
I love to advise people what is the best product, the cheapest one, the best brand on earth, things that works well with me, and I love creative things, designing and all.

Sebab itu wujudnya CHARMS & COLORS, the love of my life other than encik Hubby, Danish & Aaira :)

and another new project coming soon within this month.
we did well last time and I pray it goes as well this time.
Insya allah :)

and kelmarin, baru mendapat berita untuk transfer ke Central.
oh my... this is what I've been praying for all this while. to get out and get over with this brain-damaging Offshore BU. alhamdulillah...

seriously I can write no more.
I'm sooo overwhelmingly happy!

we have this Giraffe Rack because of Danish and Aaira.
and it's truly convenient ok!
murah sangat2.
only RM160.00 (8 rack) and RM190.00 (12 rack) at CHARMS & COLORS

so silalah pasrah.
cuma berharap rumah tak bersepah sangat.
haha T_T

and this is another good thing for you to read.
Motivating toddlers to pick up.

yes.
for me, and you.
...

"My 4 year old son has a room full of toys, and they are all over his floor. No matter what my husband and I try, he just doesn't seem to understand that each toy has a place and that when he's done playing with the toy, it should be returned to that place. What do we try next?"

"Believe it or not, it sounds like there are too many toys. We had the same problem with our son (almost 3) until I bagged up almost all of them and put them in the attic. How he has 6 to 7 major things to play with at a time and he seems to be better focused with less confusion. by doing this we can also rotate his toys when he's tired of the things he has in his room. He seems much happier with this arrangement, and we get more mileage out of all the toys."

"Sounds like too many toys. A 4 year old can't organize that many. Try having a shelf with six spaces - allow six toys to be on display at a time. Rotate the toys on display upon request. New toys can be added only when all the toys are put away."

"My boys, ages 5 and 3 1/2, have no conscience regarding a tidy house, so they, too, require much parental encouragement to put playthings away. Their style of play often involves combining different types of toys at one (Lego + actions figures + costumes + props), so the aftermath can be rather overwhelming. What works well for us is having separate containers for specific toys and shelf space identified for storing these containers as well as larger toys. We have `clean-up time' three times a day (before meals and bedtime) and Dad and Mom assist. Each child is given a specific item to search for and put away (i.e., #1 finds all the blocks, #2 finds all the cars). When the first task is complete, another task is given - they work faster and more successfully if given only one task at a time. Lots of praise and even game playing can make this process enjoyable for all. I wish my children would just clean up without any intervention, but given their ages, temperaments, preferences, and, at times, even the inconsistent modeling of their parents, they need a lot of guidance to be successfully tidy. This is the best training schedule we've come up with so far."

"No child I know will put toys back without parental guidance. When things look to messy I have the kids clean up before going on to any

new activity. I stay with them and give directions when they need it on what to put away next. It's more fun if all of the family is involved and work together. It goes faster too. Kids aren't neat and tidy naturally, but they do like to co-operate and work together when it is a family priority and activity. Remember Mary Poppins and `In Every Job That Must Be Done There Is An Element Of Fun'."

"This a tough one. The only thing that would work for us was explaining that she wouldn't get better without the medicine and that she would have to take it and we needed her co-operation. We'd often have a glass of water to chase it with to get rid of unpleasant aftertastes."

"Have you tried creating specified pickup times, say before lunch, dinner and bed? You will need to join in the fun of finding the `right' place for everything. Each toy is not a separate entity to your child as it is to you. Children need to be able to mix different toys to create their own fun."

"I have found success with keeping the toys visible on open shelves within the child's reach. Be very firm about letting the child know that he is welcome to play with any toy at any time but the rule is one at a time and before the next one comes out the current one must be picked up. The incentive is seeing the toys and wanting to play with them. This may be easier to enforce in the beginning with the shelves being out of reach so the parent has to hand out the toys. Keeping toys organized and pieces co-ordinated is more appealing to the child! They may need help to initiate this idea."

"It's great that you're teaching your son to put things away when he's done. We have a 3 year old who had the same problem. So I explained that I can't always pick up his toys. So we made a game of house work in general. When I do my cleaning, I allow him to help with the little things. (We bought him his own cleaning things.) When we're done, everything gets put away. We always work together. If a toy is out of place, we ask him where it goes, and why was it left out. He always has an answer, but it gets put away. Try working as a team, and play - `Where does this go?' We had much success."

"Does he have a toy box? You could try going to the store, letting him pick out the toy box, and see if he is willing to help then, or do it together each night, make a game out of it, or put away some toys to reduce the number that must be picked up. Also, as a method of discipline, offer choices appropriate for his age."

"Four year old's aren't interested in toys being put away. They are also not capable of cleaning up on their own. Decide when it's important to you that the toys be picked up and then you help also. And stick with those few times - eventually it will sink in even if that isn't until your child has children of their own."

"My son is nearly 3 now, but even at 2 years he learned the consequences of a littered room, as Mom and Dad experimented and found this solution. He has 2 shelves out of reach in his closet. If, after a few "2nd chances" he does not pick up, the toys are put away by us - up high, no longer at his disposal. When he sees them again, he may ask for it and we'll get it down. He may play with it as long as he picks it up properly enough when asked to, or we repeat it. Works well. Some things just stay there like books, puzzles, and games and some things like legos and blocks and lincoln logs come down for periods of time, then he seems to tire of them, can't make himself pick them up, so they get "set up" for awhile. Picking up once a day is plenty often. Sometimes now that isn't even necessary as he keeps most of it in pretty good order, and, after all, he is a small child and an "order" to him is completely different than what it is to adults. Also, sometimes we let things go while something else is more important, should they not occasionally have the same option. Baskets help for small, miscellaneous toys and picking up with our son often makes a task more enjoyable and he joins in with energy."

"We do a clean up time at the end of the day - doesn't matter how much of a mess my daughter makes (kids like to see their toys strewn around!) as long as we clean up together at the end. Following clean-up time there's lots of praise and a snack, & sometimes we put special music on or have `cleaning races.' Toy rotation is helpful too - only keep a few things within your four year old's easy reach at a time, changing them every couple of weeks. This will cut down on the mess."

"He's too young to remember on his own. Pick a few times each day and make pick-up part of your routine - `You pick up while I fix lunch' - and always before bedtime. You may need to help - and be specific in directions, `you pick up puzzle's now and put them on the shelf, and then the blocks'. If you say `pick up all your toys', it may seem like too big a job or too vague for his age."

"I've never been successful at getting children to play with just one toy at a time. But I have tried 2 things that reduce the mess somewhat. One is to keep toys with many pieces (Legos, puzzles, Discovery Pegs, blocks, etc.) in a closet or a place where they need to be asked for. Then make the child put away one kind to get another kind out of the closet. The second idea is that sometimes kids get so disorganized they don't know how or where to start with the cleanup task. So it helps to identify one thing for them to do, like: `put all the stuffed animals on the shelf' or `put all the blocks in the bucket'. Even when they know where things go, they just don't know which to tackle first."

"We've had the same problem with our children, now 5 and 6. We finally went through all their toys and pack away everything but a few of their favorites. We then had different sized storage boxes for their remaining toys, and put things like small building blocks up high where they couldn't get them unless they asked. The rule was that when they were finished playing with them they had to put the toys away or else we would pack them away like the others. Gradually we re-introduced some of the packed away toys, but most of them they didn't even miss. Also, we are now using a behavior chart where they get a star at the end of the day if they cleaned up all their messes. Then there is a reward depending on the number of stars they get at the end of the week."

"You could try explaining to your son that you will have to take all of the toys away, if he doesn't put them away. If that doesn't work, I would actually remove all of the toys. See how he reacts, and explain again what you did. As long as the toys are still physically in his room, you obviously won't get results from what you've tried. But something as drastic as taking them away, might just do the trick."

"I don't think you can expect a 4 year old to always put their toys away, even when asked. The following things have worked with my 4 year old: (1) Pitch in yourself and make it fun with a song, game or a race, (2) Place some toys on a high shelf, only to be retrieved when he picks up one or two other toys, (3) or leave the mess alone for a few days, it really doesn't matter."

"In a child's mind, picking up a toy when he's done playing with it is never as important as figuring out what to play with next! It's as necessary for your son to have his toys all over the floor as it is for you and I to have all the ingredients for a recipe in front of us before we begin mixing cookies. After play is finished, a gentle reminder and mom or dad saying, `Let's pick up together!', usually works. My six year old son is just now starting to understand organization, and how nice it is to be able to find things when he needs them. He is now able to clean up his messes by himself."

"What worked with my son was to explain that the person to put things away would be the one that could play with it. It took several times of my putting things away too high for him to get to. But now when I suggest that he do it himself or at least help me, he moves fast to make sure it gets put away so he can reach it and knows where it is for next time. Nothing is foolproof but this has saved a lot of arguments."

"It sounds like your young son has too many toys to appreciate them. Try taking away all but a few toys and store them somewhere else. Then work with the remaining toys as far as putting them away after play. He may have been overwhelmed at the sight of so many toys to put away! After her has learned to put away the toys he has, reward him by giving another toy, one at a time, that you stored away."

"We started teaching our now 26 month old to pick up after himself when he was one. we perceived that if he was capable of getting toys out he could probably put them away, too. We don't allow him to have more than two toys out at a time (or one if it's a large, messy one such as building blocks). If he refuses to clean up after himself (with our help and guidance) then the toys simply are taken away, until such time as he has proven he can care for his things. This could be one day or 3 weeks, however long it takes. Patience, not anger, is the key for us. If we let him know how upset he can make us, it loses it's effectiveness. However, if we remain calm and just take the toy away, generally he can redeem his self-discipline within a day. Of course, we have to `catch' him being good - Times when he picks up with out being asked or picks up after only one prompt. He is also not allowed to do anything else until the toys are put away. This works very well when he's motivated to change activities. Good luck."

"Kids may benefit from a limited amount of toys: (1) Try removing some (put away in storage for a period of time - when they re-appear it will seem like new toys!). (2) Lower level of expectations - it is difficult for a 4 year old to clean up a room full of toys. (3) Try to clean up at same time as child - by observing you, he may catch on. (4) Use baskets and make a game of throwing toy's into basket. (5) My 4 year old daughter suggests coming to his house to help him pick up!"

"When the toy has not been put away in the proper place - take that specific toy and he can not play with it for 1 hour, day, week, etc.....for however long you feel is just. Do this until he learns that everything even a toy has it's own proper place."

"My 4 year old daughter did the same thing until someone suggested "The Saturday Box" to us. Each night before she goes to bed we check to make sure everything is put away, anything that is out of place, i.e. on the floor, goes into the Saturday Box. On Saturday she is allowed to take 1 toy back from the box (we began with three). Now we rarely have trouble with scattered toys."

"Any kind of `work' or `chore' can be made fun by making it become a game. Give each toy whether a block, a car, or a teddy a name and/or personality. Throughout the day go into you son's room with him and make a comment like; `Oh, poor Mr. Block can't find his home. He'll be sad if he can't go where he belongs.' Have your son put it away then praise him like `Oh, now Mr. Block is happy! Are there any other sad toys that can't find their home?'. And be sure to praise him for the toys who did find their homes without your help. This method worked for me when I was a small child and I still use it when my own housework seems overwhelming or tedious."

"Try more supervision. Each time he goes to a new toy ask that the previous toy be returned and put up."

"Adults can be quite organized and children don't always appreciate that. Children have shorter attention spans and love to play with a variety of toys within a short period of time. Their imaginative minds take them from one toy to another. Rather than fighting a frustrating battle, have specific clean up times during the course of the day (before lunch, before dinner and before bed). A child may not be finished playing with a toy just because he currently isn't playing with it. You wouldn't want to stifle his imagination would you!"

"When playtime is over; i.e. time for lunch, time to go shopping, time for bed, time for whatever - set aside time for clean up. Everybody joins in the clean up - Make a game out of it. Make up a song. This way we have 1 or 2 big clean up's a day - rather than lots of little clean up's. We're using this with our younger sons. They seem to enjoy clean up almost as much as playing with their toys. Our 6 year old is still a little reluctant but better. Also, it is important to examine your attitude toward your clean up. Children often model our behavior."

"Take all the toys away. Each day give him one toy. If he puts it away give him another each day. Reverse it when he doesn't put the toy away."

"You could try a couple of approaches: Just leave the toys on the floor and designate a cleaning day where the whole family helps out. Then, after that do a fun activity that he'd like such as going for an ice cream cone, etc. Another thing to try (after a cleaning) would be to explain to your son that the toys he leaves laying about will be put away until a time when he will put them away (after a reasonable amount of time). Keep only a few toys out and maybe add a few toys at a time when he does clean up. This may be a phase too - so what ever you do, don't be too hard on him, just be firm, encouraging and reward all efforts."

"To remind our children of their responsibility we tell them what we expect and the consequences if they don't put the toys away. One consequence might be losing use of the toy for a period of time. (When I'm exasperated I threaten to throw the toys away but this is a childish approach I know. However, the children respond to this immediately and put everything away beautifully, so it does work and I have never thrown any toys away.) Our kids are most receptive when we approach it as a learning process, that we are teaching them how to take care of their things. We started to teach them when they were toddlers."

"Don't make all the toys accessible to him at one time. Keep some toys in a closet and rotate them every month. That way his toys seem new to him and there are fewer to pick up after playtime. I also assist in picking up - Sometimes preschoolers really don't `see' what is to be picked up. They need specific directions.

"One thing you could try is to make a reward chart. Buy some stickers-on stars and whenever you child does the assigned job (be very clear on what you want him to do exactly) and after a few day's, or however long it takes to reach the end of a row. Reward your child with an allowance or something good - I give my kids a dollar. Put the chart up out of reach but not out of sight and help your child put his own star on the chart. Let him pick out his own color each time. Start out small and don't make chores too big to handle."

"I think children at this age need structure and involvement from parents in order to succeed at cleaning up. One approach is to have a regular time each day when the whole family pitches in for 15 minutes to clean up - it really can be a fun time. Talk about how good it feels and looks to see it all neat again. Another strategy is to catch them before they launch into another activity and send them back to tidy up after their first mess before the proceed. Then praise! If our 4 year old doesn't want to help cleaning up, we usually remind her that next time she asks to play with that toy she'll want us to say `yes' again. Playing takes so much of their energy they're not usually too motivated to clean up at the end, are they? (Our play room is usually messy for a week at a time, sorry to say!)"
